This still life is made up of objects that represent different parts of my life, with my childhood blanket at the base. I originally chose things that felt familiar and personal to me, but later that day a close friend almost overdosed, which completely changed the way I saw the piece. The contrast between something as innocent as my baby blanket and something so suddenly scary is where the title Fragmented Pieces came from.
